The Delta submersible returns to the boat after a successful dive off Anacapa Island, one of the Channel Islands off the coast of Southern California.

On this cruise, data from observers inside the submersible were calibrated by having the observers count fake fish of known sizes and distances from the sub. This helped researchers gauge the bias in observer counts.
