The Southwest Fisheries Science Center (SWFSC) invites the public to provide comments on our draft Strategic Science Plan. In early 2012, NOAA Fisheries' Chief Science Advisor asked that all Science Centers revise or develop new Strategic Science Plans. These plans are organized by Research Themes and Foci, include infrastructure and support needs, and are developed for a 5-year period. The new Strategic Science Plan will serve as a guide for decision-making within SWFSC, and within the NOAA Fisheries science enterprise, with the goal of increasing the transparency of these decisions both within the agency and in the public. We expect this Plan, and the planning process it incorporates, including input from our stakeholders and the general public, to help position us to meet these challenges by clearly stating our core mission and desired research activities, providing increased focus, and enabling a concentration of resources to accomplish these goals.
We welcome comments or suggestions to improve upon our Strategic Science Plan. Please submit your comments to email@example.com
