The International Polar Year (IPY) is a broad scale international collaborative research effort focusing on the Arctic and Antarctic regions. IPY spans two austral years, starting in March 2007 and continuing through March 2009. The US AMLR Program supports the IPY as a contributor of the Census of Antarctic Marine Life (CAML).
