The Landscape Ecology Team is studying how the population dynamics of steelhead are influenced by, and influence, terrestrial-riverine prey exchanges and stream community dynamics in stream in the Big Sur region of California. We are using a wide variety of techniques, including periodic sampling of the in-stream invertebrate and fish community, terrestrial inputs, emergence of aquatic insects, PIT tagging, and multi-state capture-recapture modeling.
