All participants are required to have had a non-reactive skin test for tuberculosis (TB) that will be current through the cruise (TB tests are valid for 12 months only). In the event that a person has a reactive (positive) test for TB, they will need to contact Health services for further guidance.
If you do not have medical insurance and/or cannot schedule an appointment with your Doctor, there is a TB clinic at 3851 Rosecrans Street in San Diego.
TB skin tests are done every Tuesday and Wednesday on a walk-in basis.
Hours are 7:30 - 11:30 am and 1:00 - 4:00pm (except they open at 9:30am on the 1st, 3rd, and 5th Tuesday of the month). You are required to return 2 days later to have your results read. The fee for this test is $8 (with or without insurance).
Address: 3851 Rosecrans Street

Recommended Vaccinations
Participants are only required to have a non-reactive skin test for TB. However, recommended vaccinations include Hepatitis A, Tetanus shot, and a Yellow Fever vaccine. Once again these are recommended vaccinations and are not required to be considered fit for sea duty.
Immunization Information
Please carry your immunization record (or a copy) with you. Remember that some immunizations require more than one series or take a little time to take effect. For best results, please obtain your immunizations 4-6 weeks before your trip. Immunizations will not be given on board the ships. There are other recommendations at the National Center for Infectious Diseases (CDC) website (http://www.cdc.gov/travel/index.htm)
