This map displays a series of overlays of ongoing ship-based and aerial surveys carried out by the Southwest Fisheries Science Center in the California Current, the Eastern Tropical Pacific Ocean, the Central Pacific Ocean, and the Southern Ocean off the Antarctic Peninsula. One-off surveys have been conducted in the Gulf of California and the Gulf of Alaska. Surveys are shown for coastal pelagic species, groundfish, large pelagic species, salmon, marine mammals, marine turtles, and invertebrates. This map brings together all ship-based and aerial data sets. The metadata included for each survey describe and document the following attributes: Purpose of Cruise, Research Vessels used, Time Frame/Frequency, Website/Links to data/results, Region surveyed, Center/Institution involved.
