The Annual Gray Whale Migration is Underway

Click to review NOAA Fisheries Disclaimer in the San Diego Union Tribune to discuss the annual migration of gray whales. The eastern North Pacific gray whales are currently swimming south on their annual migration from their summer feeding grounds in the Arctic to their winter calving areas in warmer waters off the coast of Baja California and in the Gulf of California. The whales are ahead of schedule and are traveling close enough to the coastline that they are currently visible from shore in southern California.
