Review of Submersible Research on Demersal Communities

Mary Yoklavich of the SWFSC Fisheries Ecology Division and Tory O’Connell (Alaska Department of Fish and Game) have co-authored a new review paper “Twenty years of research on demersal communities using the Delta submersible in the Northeast Pacific”. Published in the book “Marine habitat mapping technology for Alaska”, this is one of 17 scientific papers written by international experts on the topics of remote sensing for broad-scale mapping, visual surveys for direct characterization of habitats and associated organisms, and examples of major habitat mapping programs. The publication will be useful for the broad community in marine resource management as well as researchers in Alaska and worldwide.
