Klamath Basin Science Conference

SWFSC Fisheries Ecology Division (FED) researchers played a significant role in the Klamath Basin Science Conference held in Medford, Oregon in February. The conference comes at a key moment when preparation for a Secretarial Determination on the fates of four dams on the Klamath River is underway, re-establishing access for anadromous fish to habitat blocked for over 100 years. FED staff are central to the efforts informing the Secretarial Determination, including the Economics Team preparing cost/benefit analyses and the Landscape Ecology Team developing biological models of changes in fish populations to inform economic analysis.
