PacFAAB Rescue Historic Time Series Information From Angler Club Records

One of the most valuable kinds of information needed for fishery management is time series of abundance. Club members agreed to assist in obtaining copies of archived catch records and the SWFSC agreed to summarize the data and post it on PacFAAB Web site. Historical records of catch, date, location and weight were obtained for the San Diego Marlin Club, Balboa Angling Club and the Tuna Club of Avalon. In addition weights of marlin landed at the Avalon pier and recorded by Rose Cadman were also obtained.

The catch records from three major Southern California sportfishing clubs were collected and analyzed to show trends in overall catch and changes in size of fish over the time period.
